2022-04-04 - thingsHub 4.10

Released 04/April/2022 - Latest Production Release thingsHub 4.10.7

New Features

METADATA FILTERS

Metadata Filters introduced in 4.10 allows management and usage of the filters on the basis of asset’s metadata.

MANAGE METADATA FILTERS

Metadata Filters can be managed from Settings → Metadata Filters. Filters can be added, edited and deleted from the page.

TRACKED ASSETS FILTERING

Tracked assets can now be filtered on the basis of their metadata. When multiple filters are applied, all the assets with any of the matching filters will be shown in the list.

NETWORK CONNECTOR: MELITA 2.0

SUPPORT FOR MELITA 2.0

New network connector has been added to support melita 2.0. The unique fields associated with the melita 2.0 connectors are: Device Profile ID, API Key, Device Label, Contract Id.

The url and token will be generated, which can be used to push data to the thingshub system.

USER DETAIL OVERHAUL

The user detail page have been reworked, and a few features have been added.

USER WITH NO PERMISSIONS

New users can be created with minimal permissions. This allows them to log into the thingshub system, but the user will not be able to do anything with the system.

UPDATED USER ROLES ASSIGNMENT

The roles can be easily assigned to any user from the user detail page. There are four categories, and four levels in each categories (as can be seen in the picture on the side). A Tenant Owner has Owner roles in all the categories.

GRANTED PERMISSIONS OVERVIEW

All the granted permission to the user can be observed in the Granted Permissions tab.

GRANTING ADDITIONAL PERMISSIONS

The permissions can be added to the user on a micro-level. This micro-management allows the admin to provide particular permissions to the user when necessary.

USABILITY AND OTHER SMALLER ENHANCEMENTS

  • Metadata Filters: Beside the feature itself, the mobile-optimized behavior has been added to the tracked asset page for the Metadata Filter.

  • Configurable MQTT QoS: The MQTT broker’s QoS can now be configured through helm chart.

  • Sites/Zones Search: The number of sites and the number of zones in each site could grow indefinitely. So the search capability has been added to both sites and zones for easy navigation.

Bug fixes

A total of 10 bugs were corrected with this release.

  • Tenant side navigation too wide

  • Ignore trailing slash in Loriot server name (e.g. https://eu1.loriot.io/ ) when sending downlinks

  • Sanitize ID creation of data tables

  • Zones table and map don´t use correct card layout schema

  • When search with Tracked Asset search box, my uppercase text gets lowercase'd

  • Modifying a thing without setting a type explicitly sets the thing's type to "default"

  • On the users' page, the wording is all mixed up

  • On password mismatch, the button spinner keeps spinning for very long (forever?)

  • The spacing of the tab bar is broken

  • The driver registry frequently has very high CPU usage
