Helium

This article explains how Tenant Owners can connect the thingsHub to the Helium People’s Network. Powered by the Helium Blockchain, The People’s Network represents a paradigm shift for decentralized wireless infrastructure. Powered by the Helium Blockchain, The People’s Network represents a paradigm shift for decentralized wireless infrastructure.

Server Connection Process

  1. Perform the following tasks in the Helium console:

    1. Create a label, which will be used to label all devices which are going to be registered through this network connection on Helium.

    2. Create a HTTP Custom Integration, saving Endpoint URL by “Add New Integration“ from Integrations section.

    3. Create an API key.

  2. In the thingsHub, create a new IoT connection

    1. In the IoT connection wizard, Add Name and select a Network Connector.

    2. Enter all of the above information and click “Connect“ to make connection.

    3. After creation, note down the Webhook URL on the connection’s Configuration tab

  3. Go back to Helium and paste the Webhook URL into the Endpoint URL field of the integration you selected above.

Auto Register New Devices From Network (Server)

Set this toggle switch to false if you want to manage the device on your network server via the thingsHub. Set this to true, if there are already devices registered in this application or if you want to manage the application manually.

If this is set to true, any device that’s already registered in the application will show up in the thingsHub automatically, when it sends data for the first time since creation of the Network Connection.
